Our School and the integration with CIMPSA
In 2015 the Tai Chi and Qigong Union for Great Britain consulted with CIMPSA to construct and develop a written professional standard of practice and training for the sector of Tai Chi and Qigong for Health and Wellbeing.
The document was finalised and released in 2021 providing a written technical standard that CIMSPA Members and professionals working within the health, leisure and fitness industry would be required to meet. This would provide recognition that they have reached a suitable level of competence, leadership and client care in their professions.
In 2021 The Chris Handbury School of Qigong was introduced to CIMSPA through membership as an Instructor with the Tai Chi Union. CIMPSA conveyed a genuine endeavour to work with training providers to raise the standards of training in the UK which fitted well with the development of CHSQ training courses. Shortly after the foundations of a new partnership were conceived.
Throughout 2022 we worked together to develop and launch the first CIMSPA-approved Qigong Instructor Course and later that year the school was awarded partnership status and became an endorsed training school for Qigong Instructors. We are confident that CIMSPA will continue to hold high standards within the industry of physical activity and wellness, and CHSQ is happy to share our journey with such a reputable representative.
